To make it possible to talk to others around the world on your computers you need to connect to the internet.
It is a little bit like using the telephone. You have a wire that connects from your home to the telephone company. Then the signal is passed by the wire around the world via satalites and into the other persons phone.
To connect to the internet you will need permission from you parents:
• The internet works in the same way like using the telephone, except that instead of a telephone company you have an Internet Service Provider or I.S.P company.
• Then you connect your modem to the phone socket in your house by using a telephone line.
•
Open the web browser e.g Internet Explorer and ask your parents to sign up their password and user name.
Easy isn't it! And that's just the start of a world of fun and learning!
