INSTRUCTIONS ON USE AND CARE OF BRACES

DOs:
- Brushing and flossing as instructed in the clinic is important
for maintaining the health of the gums and the teeth, and in turn
influences the progress of your treatment.
- Wear removable appliances as directed, these include headgear,
bite plane, acco, rubber bands etc.
- A mouth guard should be worn when playing sports.
DON'Ts:
- Do not eat HARD
OR CRUNCHY FOODS which can damage the appliances by breaking
off brackets and bending wires.
- Do not eat STICKY
FOODS which will get stuck on the appliances and become difficult
to remove.
- Do not use any implements other than those you were instructed
to use for cleaning the appliances. The instruments that are allowed
include: toothbrush, dental floss, water pick, floss threader and
interproximal brushes.
- Do not pull on or pick at the appliances.
- Headgear should not be kept on during rough play.
